Self-Exploration Destinations outside Budapest

Szentendre – Little Artist Village 30 km north of Budapest makes a nice daytrip. Go up by boat and come back with the suburban train in just 45 min.
Danube Bend – Full day trip with the 3 main towns on the river Danube.  Esztergom is the seat of the largest cathedral, Visegrad is the renaissance king Matthias old Palace and the Visegrad Castle, and Szentendre the Artist village.  The suburban bus leaves every 30-45 min. 
Eger – Home of the “Bulls Blood” wine this city is the most beautiful city in Hungary with its splendid baroque architectural jewels and amazing wines.  Makes for a great day trip or over nighter  so you can hang out in the wine caves all night!  IF YOU GET 6 OR MORE PEOPLE WE CAN DO A DAY TRIP UP THERE FOR 18,000 FT EACH AND INCLUDES ENTRY FEES, PRIVATE BUS TRANSPORT AND GUIDE, 2 WINE TASTING.
Lake Balaton – Central Europe’s largest fresh water lake is only 1,5 hours by train from Budapest and boasts a nice swim trip and a taste of Hungarian vacation practices.  The north shore is surrounded by hills and wineries.
